Five signals that decide whether AI quotes you

  • Lift-ready summary. A TL;DR or key-takeaways block gives engines a clean passage to quote whole.
  • Answer-first opening. The first sentence states the answer, not a warm-up.
  • Question-style headings. Headings phrased as buyer questions map each section to a query.
  • Concise sentences and lists. Short sentences and structured steps are the formats AI answers reuse most.

Common questions

Short answers on what the grader measures, how it works, and how often you can use it.

What does the Answer Readiness Grader measure?

It scores how easily an AI answer engine can lift and cite your content. The grade combines five structural signals: a lift-ready summary, an answer-first opening, question-style headings, concise sentences, and structured lists or steps. When configured, an AI layer adds a plain-English read and tailored rewrites.

Is this the same as an SEO score?

No. Traditional SEO scores weigh keywords, links, and crawlability for ranking. This grades extractability: whether a model can quote a clean, self-contained passage from your text when it answers a question. The two overlap but are not the same goal.

Does it send my content anywhere?

The structural grade runs from your pasted text and is not stored beyond a short cache. If the optional AI layer is enabled, the text is sent to a model through OpenRouter to generate the narrative and rewrites. Paste only content you are comfortable sharing.

How often can I run a grade?

The tool is rate-limited to five grades per hour per visitor to keep it free. Identical text is cached for 24 hours so repeat runs return the same result without extra cost.
